Demi is the founder of Bright Girl Health, a menstrual health educator, and a passionate high school teacher. She believes that anyone who menstruates should never feel left in the dark about their own body.

Demi has worked with high school students for over 10 years in many schools across Australia and is dedicated to empowering people with periods to be in tune with their physical and emotional well-being through health education. Understanding reproductive health is an obstacle many you girls and menstruators face because of embarrassment, shame, lack of resources, shying away from ‘taboos,’ and misinformation from the media or friends. Demi’s goal is to break through the silence when it comes to discussing reproductive health.

  • If you’re really frustrated by your period, experience a lot of period pain and PMS symptoms, or think/know you have any hormonal imbalances going on, this course is for you!! This course is also for you if you want to embrace your body fully and not dread getting your period every month.

  • If you already have a really great foundation of knowledge about periods, fertility awareness, cervical fluid, and how to use your period to your advantage… this may not be the course for you. If you have friends constantly asking you for guidance, this could be a great starting point for them!

  • The video material is about an hour in length. The best part is it’s pre-recorded and on-demand, so you can go through it at your own pace and revisit it whenever necessary. You will also get the Owning Your Period workbook and Bright Girl Guide e-book.

  • While we don’t really touch on birth control in this course, the videos + ebook can be a great resource for you to learn more about the menstrual cycle and how your hormones naturally fluctuate throughout each month. If you are using birth control to mask or alleviate your PMS symptoms, this course can be a friendly guide to have a more informed discussion with your doctor about any underlying issues you may have and how to reduce your symptoms in a more natural way (if that is of interest to you!).

  • Definitely! This course is for menstruators of all ages, truly. Unless you had amazing sex ed or really paid attention in health class, chances are, you’re still largely in the dark about your body (can somebody get us a flashlight?! 🔦). There’s so much we don’t know and it’s honestly a shame. This course has something to learn for anyone. You can even take it alongside your teen! While we do briefly touch on fertility, the course does not dive into any explicit material. The fertility section is more about charting your period and understanding ovulation as it relates to your menstrual cycle.
